שלום עליכם Shalom aleikhem (Peace be upon you)

Yeah, so last night I went to a Matisyahu concert and it was awesome beyond description!

First, my pappy came and basically dropped me off, I show my ID to the guy inside (18+ show), but it as uber-old and had a picture of me back when I was like 13 so my hair was all short. After he looked at it for a couple seconds he handed it back, and me, being the dork I am, says "Sorry, kinda an old one" and he's like "What?" And I repeated myself and he was just kinda "...Ok"

So, I get in there at about 8:30 and I'm the only person my age there, I felt kinda nervous about being in a bar for the first time, but it ended up being really worth it. I was kinda stressing because my dad just left and we hadn't made any plans for him to pick me up, turns out he was just at the bar next door watch tv. After waiting for about an hour, the opening act, Pigeon John came on and he was pretty dang good, kinda a cool but dorky hip-hop artist (and his "Pigeon John dance" was great too). It was uber-crowded by the way, I didn't have more than half a foot of space in front of me or back of me... I was down on the floor less than 10 feet from the stage.

After this I wait about 30 more minutes and Matisyahu comes out. By this time this REALLY cool, REALLY nice young orthodox jewish man was standing in front of me and you could tell he was a huge Matisyahu fan, he was probably the loudest guy there. At the really good parts he'd turn to me or other people he was standing near and start singing with them and also we'd jump up and down in the crowd. I kinda became friends with him in this way even though we didn't really talk the entire time.

Then, believe it or not, Matisyahu comes out into the crowd and starts jumping with us right where this orthodox guy and I were! It was so amazing and fun! Finally, after it was all over, the orthodox guy turned to each of us (the people who were jumping and singing along with him) and shook our hands and hugged us, which was probably one of the best parts of my night.

So my legs hurt from jumping and standing for 4 hours, my throat hurts from cheering and singing, and my ears were ringing, but it was really worth it
